    Library

Our fort is the home of picture books for very young children.  We have author focus boxes, lots of fiction books, non-fiction organised by topic, and Arabic books.  Then we have short chapter books for youngsters on their first step to independent reading.  Once on the reading journey, there are longer chapter books, illustrated novels and short novels.  These collections fulfil the expanding needs of children until the end of Junior School.

We have a wide collection of books for Middle School students.  We feature the genres of Middle Eastern stories, Historical fiction, Dystopian stories, Sport, Mysteries, War Stories, Stories with strong female protagonists and high interest stories for struggling readers.  We also have a wide general range of fiction and non-fiction, with focus on such topics as the UAE, Food, Art, Biography and Disasters.  We have a range of fiction and non-fiction in Arabic, and a Senior fiction and non-fiction collection.

The library is in constant use by English and Arabic classes, with story reading, sessions on reading strategies, research and silent reading.

The library has an excellent website (Click Here) where students can log in to search for a book, view our specialist reading lists, check their loan status, reserve a book, check book reviews and write their own reviews.  They can access Encyclopaedia Britannica, which provides an excellent further resource of articles at three levels of difficulty, and images they can use to support their research.

Currently we have over 19,000 books on loan to students and teachers.  Check us out, on line or in person. You’ll be most welcome!
